Services

Commission agent / Broker

For our suppliers, we work to find new clients in the Canadian market, arrange annual contracts, and represent their interests in all facets of our business such as in international trade shows.

For our customers, we negotiate competitive pricing, act as a local contact, and source new products.

Logistics & documentation

Today, logistics are complex, especially when it involves moving food products between countries. We make it easier with our knowledge of importing and our daily contact with shipping companies and freight forwarders. We follow our customers’ shipments from point of loading to delivery to ensure efficient movement which minimizes potential storage and demurrage costs.

We understand the need for accurate documentation, whether it be customs paperwork, allergen reports, product specifications or any of the other documentation required by many Quality Control departments. We work closely with our suppliers so they can comply to current regulations and customer requirements

Customer service

Halford Lewis is dedicated to top quality customer service. We can handle all the day-to-day operations from order entry to package tracking to general inquiries. We handle trouble-shooting in problems related to import and transportation, and generally ensuring smooth transitions between our suppliers and customers

Sales

While we mainly act as an intermediary between supplier and customer, we do keep some products on hand in our local warehouse. As we are located in the bustling port city of Montreal, this allows us to lock-in lower pricing on some items and assist in managing longer lead times.
